What to Know About Disney+

After some time we finally have information on Disney’s new streaming service that will be called Disney+. It will be launching this Fall on November 12, 2019 costing $6.99 per month. There is also an annual purchase option for $69.99. Let’s dive deeper into the details.

What to know:

  • Rated R movies will not be allowed on the streaming service to keep it family friendly.
  • All of the old Disney Classics from the vault will be available on the streaming service. I cannot contain my excitement for this one!!! It will also include newer films such as Moana and Frozen, some of the live action films, Disney channel shows, every single Disney Channel original movie (OMG!!!), and the whole Pixar library as well. Seriously? Sign me up!!!
  • Disney+ will be the exclusive streaming service for all future Disney releases.
  • It will be the home for all Marvel and Star Wars movies.
  • Everything will be downloadable. This means you will be able to download all content so you can watch it off of Wi-Fi. The download will be available for an unlimited amount of time as long as you are a subscriber.
  • Disney+ will include a few original shows and movies like Netflix and Hulu.
  • Disney+ is expected to give some of the characters the Marvel Universe renewed life with limited series devoted to them. They will start with a series about Loki.
  • Quite a few new shows focused around the Marvel Universe are going to be released on Disney+. Shows including Buckey Barnes, Hawkeye, and many others.
  • Disney+ will be releasing Marvels first animated series called “What If”.
  • On top of Marvel there will also be new Star Wars content including a new show called The Mandalorian with a second series in development.
  • Disney+ will also be bringing back The Clone Wars.
  • Lady and The Tramp will be getting a live action movie. I am so excited for this!!
  • Disney+ will be featuring some National Geographic content to add some educational value for families.
  • There will also be reboots of some other Disney classics like a Monsters Inc. show and a new High School Musical movie. They also have their eye on rebooting some other classics like Muppets and The Mighty Ducks.
  • There will also be a ton of other content such as unscripted series, nonfiction series such as a Love Simon TV show, and The Sandlot TV show.

This was a ton of information to throw out there, but it is extremely exciting! Disney+ looks to have really promising content and for a great price. I can’t wait to check it out when it’s available. What are your thoughts on Disney+?

Hello! My name is Cori. I am a huge Disney and Harry Potter Fanatic. I travel to Disney multiple times a year, whether it's Disney world, which I go to the most, Disneyland, a Disney Cruise, or one of the many other wonderful Disney Experiences. I also love to travel to new places and visit Universal every once in awhile to see Harry Potter. I spend a large amount of time researching all things Disney, so I thought it was only fitting that I start a blog to share my thoughts and findings, and I could not be more excited.
