Food Allergies at Disney

Food allergies can put a lot of stress on a person when they are traveling. You constantly have to think about what you are eating or if you will even be able to find something to eat at all. The last thing anyone wants is to get sick on vacation. Luckily, Disney is one of the best places you can go in regards to food allergies. They take allergies very seriously and they are extremely accommodating. Lets take a look at some of Disney’s food allergy policies.

Disney is equipped to handle most of the below common food allergies right off the bat:

  • Gluten or wheat
  • Eggs
  • Fish
  • Milk or lactose
  • Peanuts and tree nuts
  • Shellfish
  • Soy
  • Corn

A majority of Disney restaurants now have allergy friendly specific menus. If they don’t, all you have to do is mention your allergy and you will be given options. I have heard on multiple occasions by different people that the chef has come out to speak to them specifically and worked with them to make a delicious and allergy friendly meal. If that isn’t offered you can requested to speak to the chef and they will be happy to come out. Disney also does their best to make sure there is no cross contamination when preparing the food however, it is not prepared in a separate kitchen.

If you have more rare dietary restrictions or have multiple allergies Disney will still work with you. You can even reach out ahead of time at a special dietary needs email address to discuss any concerns you have before your trip.

It never hurts to let them know ahead of time about any dietary restrictions in your dining reservation notes and always make sure to communicate allergies immediately to your server. In my opinion Disney is on of the most allergy friendly places to dine. Have you had to deal with food allergies at Disney? Let me know your stories in the comments!

Hello! My name is Cori. I am a huge Disney and Harry Potter Fanatic. I travel to Disney multiple times a year, whether it's Disney world, which I go to the most, Disneyland, a Disney Cruise, or one of the many other wonderful Disney Experiences. I also love to travel to new places and visit Universal every once in awhile to see Harry Potter. I spend a large amount of time researching all things Disney, so I thought it was only fitting that I start a blog to share my thoughts and findings, and I could not be more excited.
