We have already discussed the most crowded times to visit Disney in this past post. So today lets discuss some of the best times to visit Disney based on crowds. You will have to take this with a grain of salt because there are no longer truly non-crowded times of the year, but there are definitely most manageable times of the year. Lets take a look at them below.
January – January is known for being a slower time of year. If you avoid New Years, MLK weekend, and the marathon the rest of January has relatively low crowds. I was there over MLK weekend this year and even that was not a terrible time to be there.
February – Outside of February break it is also a less crowded time of year to go. I also find winter a great time to visit. It usually avoids the peak heat you find in Florida and California. That being said sometimes it gets chilly so bring layers!
May – If you avoid Memorial Day it is a great time to visit. It is after the March-April spring break period but before summer so a lot of people won’t take their kids out of school during this time. It is warm but not peak summer heat and it is also during Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot which is a really fun Festival. A tip for festivals is to go on a weekday, weeknights and weekends bring the locals out and it becomes more crowded.
Fall – Visiting during the Fall is awesome. After Labor Day to just before Thanksgiving (avoiding Columbus Day weekend) is a lower time for crowds. Kids are just heading back to school so they aren’t being taken out for vacation. This is Food and Wine Festival time at Epcot but if you follow the weekday rule it is still a better time to visit. Weekends aren’t that bad either if you avoid opening weekend.
Early December – After Thanksgiving through the second week of December generally have less crowds because it is right before the Christmas/New Year rush. It is also another time of year where heat is not as bad. You also get to see the beautiful holiday decorations put up all around the resort. It is a truly magical time to visit.
Those are my recommendations on best times to visit to avoid crowds. What are your thoughts? Do you have a favorite time of year to visit? Let me know in the comments!
